I love the Australian forest. This spot in a place called Sun Valley in the Blue Mountains has incredible trees, some as tall as 50+ meters (150+ feet). Lots of hollows for birds, possums and owls to roost/nest in. At the same time, I always had an affection for landscape paintings. So I converted an image I captured at Sun Valley with a CS3 watercolor filter. What do you think? Still too photo like?
Personally, I always preferred paintings that show a fair bit of detail as opposed to wishy-washy colors.
30D, 24-85mm at about 60mm, HH, ISO800 (for shutter speed) and around 1/25th, and f/8 (from memory)

Akos, Sometimes a little goes a long way with these filters-I think you did a great job rendering this image. It has a carefully painted feel to it! Well done.

I humbly thank you Denise. :) Only if you could see me blush. I don't think I ever posted ANY landscape images in any forum before, so this is a first for all occasions. I love this place and cannot wait to go back. :) YOu are too kind.

THank you as well Cheryl. I am starting to enjoy this manipulation stuff after having a hard time nailing birds. This seems easier, well not really, but at least it's fresh ideas and experimentation! :)

Hi Akos I like this shot and the treatment. Would you consider either upping the vibrancy or sat. a bit to make it pop more?? (Or maybe this is the way you wanted it) Just my .02. Welcome to OOTB. It is loads of fun.

Asylum? I'll fit right in then! :D Thank you for the kind words.
Jackie,
Thanks, I had no idea what I was doing or should be doing. Thanks for the tip and I do sincerely appreciate your 2 cents' worth. Even if it were 1 cent. :)
