...btw I was asked just a few days ago if I knew a place that would develop Kodachrome ..... locally :eek:
Locally we did have one lab that processed the K-14 (Kodachrome) but their timing was not good. Just at that time Fuji came into the market and lots of pros were making the transition to E-6. Their film was much better than the Ektachrome of the time !!! Don't think the lab was open for long !!!
I guess this is the sign of the times...into the digital age and beyond...:eek::D
I remember the days of Kodachrome 64...I used it for a number of years, very good color rendition...:cool:
I was looking at some of my Dad's old slides recently--the Kodachromes looked really good with no fading that I could see. The ektachromes were a bit faded....
Rocky Fuji seems to to better I was picking some slides to scan and they looked mighty fine !!!
All ektachrome shot in 60s and 70s is now a beautiful bluish purple color begging for photoshop work.
Interesting that KII ISO 25 shot in the 50s still looks good.
I hope my newer ektachrome slides hold up. The only film I did like was Velvia, because when you nailed the exposure pics were awsome but K64 people called them "posterized"(jealous)

I think there was a lot of personal bias in the film I know K64 had neutral tones but I was in the Fuji Camp !!!!
I started with K25 and ended my film shooting last year with Fuji Pro. Have to look at the old slides one of these days. Rumor has it it has 100 year + life. I personally didn't like K64 that much for nature work and moved on to others after the K25 and KII demise.
