Way to go Denise. I find this to be very appealing due to the nice vertical composition, the upturned head and the nice catchlight. Perhaps a slight head turn toward you would give the viewer a bit more contact with the bird. I also see a loss of detail in the breast, maybe a bit more sharpening would bring it out. Love the bg and the way the bird is holding his wings.
I selectively sharpened the breast, hope this is better.
It is better, Denise! The eye still seems a little soft, but the BG is to die for and the headturn is good!
I added some sharpness to the eye.
You little worker bee! Your like fine wine! The images got better every time!
Thanks for your help!!!
I like this one much better for all the reasons Grace stated.

Better on just about every count. Proportionate perch and a better head angle. It looks better with additional sharpening.
Last one is best of the three, real nice and not much else to say, love the pose and bg.
The last one looks better althought I would suggest a little bit more USM, and maybe a little crop from the left. Congratulaitons, nice pose, light and BG.
Thankyou everyone-much appreciated!
Denise, here's a quick editing I did on your image, hope you don't mind. :)
I love this image Denise. I also like the fact you go back and readjust a few tweaks as per suggestions. I love your final repost, but I also like Ramon's repost with the lightened eye, though I am not keen on the close left edge. Well done and congrats! :)
Ramon, Nice re-post-thankyou for taking the time to help!! I love your new signature!
Akos, thankyou
