Turkey vulture - banked in flight

Inspired by Chris van Rooyens outstanding image (mooi so boet!) here is a turkey vulture from Palo Alto Baylands last week. I liked the feather detail caught when he banked back into the light and looked right past me.
Maybe a bit too much crop?

Good choice for your inspiration. You have a nice dorsal view, with good detail in both wings and nice head angle. It does seem to be lacking a bit of detail, possibly from your crop. It is interesting that both wing tips appear sharper than the head, and the eye looks a bit odd. Did you do any post proc. work there?

Thanks. I just cropped, sharpened and saved for web. Interestingly in the next frame the nictitating membrane covered the eye which made it less of an attractive image (but took nothing away from the birds beauty ;> ).

Great angle of flight Garry, and showing great detail from the top. Often banking angles work very well, so well captured here.
