I visited a Rookery close by a couple days ago. The sky was variable with some blue spots but mostly covered.
The shooting is very limited as a result of visibility of the nest site.
I kind of liked the pose on this one. I hope you like it.

Karl, I like it alot-I like their poses and the L birds wing up- I like the two together with similar head angles
I like the poses and setting and might give it a bit more space at the bottom.
Like the poses of the two birds. Could use a bit more room below. The vertical nest branch in the center is a huge distraction, an image killer in fact. If it fits with your personal ethics, it would be easy to remove it.
