Photographed yesterday afternoon, there were thin clouds and the light was great. The bright line on the upper mandible is not a sharpening halo, it looks like that in the original RAW file.

Would like a bit more room on the right and maybe a tad more on the bottom.
Also wouldn't mind a bit more of a head turn toward the viewer.

This is beautiful, Axel. Purples were a target species of mine this winter, now they are a target species of mine for next winter. :) (But I can't complain about this winter.) Barnegat?
I am glad you liked it. It's not too late, I photographed this bird at Barnegat Light on Friday. There are still lots of harlequins and purple sandpipers around, especially near the end of the jetty.Quote:
