While visiting Denali National Park up in Alaska, I had the opportunity to photograph this Willow Ptarmigan through an open bus window from over the driver's shoulder! Although it would've been nice to have better photographic conditions, I was pleased with the result.

Sharp. Raised foot. Calling. Sharp. Bus driver or not, this rocks.

Lovely image!
Excellent job in those conditions.
Great pose, setting, detail, action, background ... all comes together very nicely.
Wouldn't mind seeing even more of that wonderful BG in front of the bird if you have it.

Lovely low angle shooting from a bus Doug. Pin sharp and love the raised foot. What a super OOF BG too. Great image.

It's interesting because the angle really does look low. It's an optical illusion though, because I was photographing from well above the bird.

At first I thought this was a low angle as well... lol. Great detail, and the raised foot and calling moment captured are awesome. I really like the variable background too, with the grasses and distant background. Cool stuff!

Lovely pose with raised foot and open bill. If you hadn't said different I would have sworn you were lying in the gravel. Still having trouble understanding how you could see under the belly from a high angle.
