This beautiful male must be a Poppa, because the blue on his eye is gone. He still has the gold locks that tells us he is in mating plumage, but the color disappears when the are nesting, no need to look good anymore ;) The plumage takes longer to go away.
Anhinga Trail, Sunday afternoon. On close focus, I closed the aperture from f/5.6 anticipating a frontal look. 95% of frame.
Cool pose, great exposure control, details, BG and composition. Very minor suggestion would be to remove the little white spots on neck and back.

Fabs, I love the pose and the colors are great-It's hard to get these guys to look good-yet you always manage to.

I do have to say the twisted neck and the direct eye contact work well here. Where both eyes are visible, it adds a lot to the image. Defiant look is a plus. A suggestion is to brighten up the image. The light looks a bit flat to me. Overall it is a keeper.

Fabs, this is so cool! I love the sinuousness of the neck and his expression. The background is beautiful, too.

Terrific pose and beautiful blacks Fabs. It could be always hard to decide where to cut a bird in the frame like the Anhinga. :) This image shows well.
