Bird?Wildlife Blinds

I have a "doghouse" blind that I love, however it has an enclosed wire frame that snaps it out to full size. Setting it up is great but trying to get the right twist to get it back to the small storage size is tough for me. I can do this only part of the time, so I end up not using it. Do others have a problem with this or I am I getting to old to manage it ?
Is there any other fast set up blinds free standing that anyone knows of ? And one that can be easily and quickly taken down and stored without the internal wire frame ?

I used that type of blind, a Ameristep pop up wire frame I believe, for 2 years and sold it after I got tired of trying to fold it, like you. I now use a Quick Camo throw cover blind and sit in a bag chair. It works great.

I've got a blind like the one described here. Grady - What type of throw cover blind do you use? I've been looking into something like that.

I have a throw cover blind but it is not comfortable for a long time
Can you post image of what you are describing or post more details as to brand,etc,info.

I use the chair, because it is rugged and holds my large frame comfortably. I sit down, position the Gitzo Tripod with Wimberley 2 Head at my intended target area, then cover myself with the camo throw cover blind. I find it more versatile and very quick to set up, about 4 minutes. I can carry this chair in a provided bag with shoulder strap and the blind is in it's own carry bag and will fit into my backpack or over my shoulder. Both weigh only 15 lbs. I stopped using the tepee type blind because it was hard to pack back up, rather large to carry, a large circular disk shape, and several other reasons like noise when unzipping the windows. A bad thing when trying not to spook eagles or large mammals. i use the blind with my Canon MK2N combinded with the 300 2.8 and teleconverter. It has a lot of advantages. You will like it for sure.

For the past six months or so I have started using my chair blind more than my Dog House blind. It is a bit heavier and more awkward to carry than the Dog House. The advantage is that it is much smaller and easier to fit into tighter spaces. The other thing is that you need to carry a pillow or something too as the seat sits to low to make it easy to lean forward and look through the camera.

The blind is basically a camping chair that has a blind frame that folds up over the chair from the back. They make both a one man and a two man.

I hated folding that thing....The Quick Camo throw cover blind is what I use...so portable and does the job wonderfully...plus you can stand up to shoot if needed, which you can't do with the Ameristep wire frame binds.

I like the idea of this Quick Camo throw cover blind. Charlie, this might be exactly what you need.

I just got my Ameristep Doghouse blind and after i watch the movie on there website how to fold the blind together i made it the first time! I think the secret are not be afraid to use some force when folding it! I don´t write this to be cocky just for sharing my experience!
