Went out with a bunch of friends to Pennsylvania yesterday during the snow. This area is now preserved as part of the Deleware River Park. It started raining.....so I decided to stay somewhat dry under the protection of the roof (surprisingly it didn't leak!) I worked this composition for about an hour with many different views including WA. This may be my favorite....converted to B&W. Even though the rust showed well in the color version......the B&W just seemed appropriate. (or maybe I'm doing a lot of B&W conversions lately)
Canon Mark 3 with the 28-135mm lens at 30mm for 1.6 sec. at f22 and ISO 200....all tripod mounted and the Singh ray 3 stop grad ND.....partially up the lens.....clear on the left, darkest strip to the right.....with about 1/4 of the filter....protruding above the lens. B&W conversion done in PS2.

I don't think this would have the same effect in color. I like the mood and the textures in the wood. I'd prefer some grain added to it as it's very clean...just a personal preference....

I think B&W is very appropriate for this subject. I like the textures and lighting. The broken window adds a nice touch. I like it just as presented, though some grain might be nice too. Just curious, what kind of machinery is this, perhaps a planter?

Roman, this is so cool...the way it is lit is brilliant. I opened it up in PS and played around with adding some different colored photo filters around the 40 mark - you should check out what it does to your image - it adds a whole other feel but still lets all that gorgeous lighting in.
I am certainly no expert on old farm equipment but I'd bet money this is a seed hopper of a some kind.
