Hello again everyone. After a long hiatus due to working in retail at the holidays, then a nice recovery, and after much prodding from Dad, I finally have an image that might be good enough to post here. It does have flaws though, and any suggestions would be very helpful. I am particularly unhappy with the sky behind... any thoughts? This image was processed using several of the Topaz Labs filters and layers in Photoshop...

Hi Mike, Just checked out your web-site, you've got some great stuff! I like your image alot!!! I like the sky-it looks like your plane is flying thru the clouds. I would suggest some NR in BG. I also think it would look better if the plane was flying into the image instead of out of the image. Glad your Dad prodded you to post-This is a very nice image -I like the streaks!!

Thanks for the input, Denise. The noise in the BG is my chief quibble with the image myself. Believe it or not, I have done a lot of NR in the BG and it started to posterize/blotch up. As for the flying in vs. flying out, I have to learn to add canvas (or pan better ;) )
Thanks for the warm welcome back. I hope to do more soon.

Mike, Your welcome, check out Dan Brown's post today in General Photography Forum-it is about BG noise and there seems to be some good advice given. Adding canvas is easy to do. Go to Image >canvas size then check the relative button and add by inches height or width. If you are working on cs4 you can use the content aware scale to stretch the canvas-otherwise you'll have to clone or paint in BG color. Looking forward to more!!!

Hi Mike that plane would look good with any bg !!!!!!
Agree with Denise Content aware scaling is the best way to go, will have a tutorial on ETL soon !!! Do created some room up front and give that bird room to fly into !!!
