This is the most common of New Zealand's endemic Terns.
Details: Pentax K10D With Tamron 70-300 @ 300mm.
400 ISO. 1/4000 @ F5.6 Minus 0.5 EV. Multi-segment metered. Cropped.

Hi Ian. I like the bird's position, but the sun is a little high in the sky. This creates some harsh light on the top underwing area and some shadowing on the other wing. The fish is a nice touch. The bird could be a little sharper, and the strong horizontal BG elements are a little distracting. Thanks for posting!

I like the pose and the fish adds to it. I would crop it a bit tighter or maybe as vertical and wish there were more details in the shadows.

I like the composition of the repost much better but the bird lacks a bit of detail and I would run NR on the BG. I think it needs a bit CW rotation to level the yellow/dark line.

I was thinking it was a subject for BG NR but don't know what CW rotation is unless it is straightening ???
