The Marsh Tit is a very common bird at several places in Holland. Bud photgraphing isn"t easy at all.
Here I choose fore a full frame picture without any disturbands at de BG. Just the bird.
Olympus E3, Zuiko ED300 F2.8, Zuiko 2.0 converter, 600mm focuslength, 1/250sec, F7.1, ISO400, -0.3 stop
Overall very nice, but the stub in front of the foot creates a weird effect where at first I wasn't sure what was wrong with the foot. Good exposure, sharpness, and head turn.
Excellent detail, cocked head and background.
Lovely BG, colour palette and pose but I have to agree with Dan about the obscured foot being a distraction.
Exellent work Alexander. The BG is magnificent, colors and details of the bird exquisite. Too bad about the foot. Compositionwise I would consider moving the bird slightly more to the UR corner, e.g. by cropping just a little from the top and the right. I would also add a little canvas to the right to give the tail some room.

They are not easy to photograph at all and you did well capturing the little fellow. However, why did you choose for the full-frame bird on stick approach? You said you did this on purpose...could you explain that? Often with these small birds the perch is even so important (if not more important than the subject itself)...unfortunately the perch here is quite boring...but I'm sure you'll be able to work on that as these little fellows seem to like you.
I olso made some pictures with collorfull branches en more room bud I was wondering if "just a bird and nothing els" could be appriciated. This picture reveels a lot of detail on the bird without distracting (accept the foot:eek:). Later on i will upload a same onde with more space and colors.Quote:
