Very strong image Jim. I love the eye contact!
Great shot and eye contact, amazingly clean for 800 iso, not sure what I am seeing around the edge of the owl's left outer wing (right outer wing looking at the picture).
Hmmm...
I can't see anything (I assume you mean the wing showing the darker top plumage) on either the original RAW or the jpeg?
The D300 does produce very clean files up to ISO 1000 in good light and with proper optimal exposure.
Delightful. I am totally envious.
Beautiful flight pose! The eye contact really makes this photograph.
Holy cow, this owl means business. I think your framing is spot-on and the exposure is perfect. The eye contact is priceless indeed! Very, very neat image. :)
Great, love it as much as the other one, great eye contact, pose, detail, and colors! Congratulations!
I'm not overly keen on Owl flight shots against the sky, I prefer some of the habitat in frame but this is superb. Detail and colours look great and the look down the lens barrel tops it off....
Nice work.
Tony
Hi Jim, it almost looks like some extra feathers half way up the wing sticking out from underneath the wing, and then the lower edge feathers seem to loose colour toward the edge of the wing, maybe its just me.
Hi Art..
I looked hard at the original and some other shots of this particular individual...I think it's simply the way the bird was marked and the lighting.
Que belleza!
What a great looking bird! my compliments, those eyes are wonderful. Great job.
