This image was created in the pre-dawn at the Venice Rookery last week on the Post X-mas IPT with the handheld Canon 400mmm f/4 IS DO lens and the EOS-1D MIII. ISO 400. Manual metering + 2 2/3 stops off the sky. ETTL fill flash at -1 stop with the Better Beamer.
Expanded canvas right and move 2nd bird and bus to the right for better compositional balance.
Don't be shy; all comments welcome. I am here to learn too.

Hi Artie!
Ok, it took me a few moments to figure out that you meant second bird and BUSH, not BUS...really thought I'd lost it this time...:D:eek:
I do love this but my only wish would be to have a little more detail in the second bird's head - but only a smidgin. Just my taste - I'm sure that others may disagree. The bird on the left looks just about perfect.
Best regards,
Nicki

Interesting shot, but I find the gap in the grass between the two birds a little disconcerting. Might want to lose the grass under the landing bird?

Hi Nicki, I can't believe that you do not see the big yellow bus!
Thanks for catching the typo. Got your e-mail; thanks! It will get answered eventually!

Neat That is what I call going with the flow !!! I was set up for something a little different and missed it !!! Particularly like the feel and soft color !!!

Artie, for me, I love the bird on the left but don't think the bird on the right does a darn thing for him. Like Nicki, I find him to be too blurry and too far apart from the main focal point.
