This is a shot of the sun through the smoke of the wildfires in southern California this past summer. Not much PP here. At sunset the smoke gave the sun a blood red color and at noon the world had an eerie orange glow.

Leroy, very nice color variations-love it!
Well composed and smashing effect...I like it very much. The sun is placed just right in frame and the bold hues of red yellow and orange makes it for me...good show...
Terrific colors and very good placement of the sun in the frame. You could add some silhouetted trees if you had them.
I saw some of a fellow photographers images from the fire and they were very much as you said - blood red and the most unbelievable colors through the smoke and haze.
This is beautiful, Leroy. My only suggestion would be to consider bringing down the yellow saturation just a bit and only on the brightest portion of the sun. Everything else is perfection.
I like it Leroy The suggestion of adding trees its a good one Would love to see them incorporated in diffusing layers !! Neat !!!
Beautiful colors. It's a shame that such a devastating event had to occur to bring this to us.
