The spirit, power and majesty of a bald eagle are widely celebrated attributes. But when an eagle flies overhead after sunrise, as this one did over my head near the Connecticut River in May 2008, it becomes an up close, personal experience. I photographed this bird as it approached. Looking at the image on my monitor, I wanted to somehow emphasize the powerful downstroke that lifted the bird up into the morning sun. I processed the image in Photoshop with several Color Efex filters until I finally got a result I liked.
C & C appreciated.

Keith , this is nice and bold. I like your gradient sky. I would probably clean-up the red around the head and tail if it were mine. Great wing position and I happen to love Eagles so this is a winner in my book.

Good suggestion. The head and tail in the repost definitely look better. Thanks, Denise.
