Bufflehead (female) landing gear down
Its that time of year again up here in Minnesota where the divers are flying through on to there winter living area's. We have a short month window approximately to locate them up here and try to get close to them, very skiddish. But it seems once you find smaller lakes or larger ponds with the food they like, they will come back year after year giving a person a good photo opportunity. With that being said this large pond is surrounded by cattails that have gone from green to different tones of orange/brown and makes for a nice canvas.
