Golden Plover

I liked this pic because of the environment its showing, did some cloning in PS and standard sharpening and added a bit more canvas to the right.

I like the low angle, details and walking pose and might remove the sheen on the bill.

Great shot, Nagesh. Love the narrow DOF isolating the bird. I agree with Axel re reducing the highlights on the bill. Wonder about a slight CCW rotation as the line of sharp focus seems to be sloping down to the right slightly.

Welcome Nagesh. This is a Black-bellied Plover, a winter plumage adult. There is a thread on separating the two species in the Avian ID Forum. As is, it is a bit too contrasty and could use a crop from the back. Lastly, I am not a big fan of this bird's chosen (yucky) habitat.

I agree with Art on the ID & suggest you compare this bird to James’ American Golden Plover image here. Comment’s by most posters, particularly those by Dave & Art, should be very helpful to sort out these ‘Tundra’ plovers.
