Overall I like it. Normally I'd prefer less room behind, but the grass you fully include balances the comp out (but I'd be tempted to crop a bit above). Too bad for the OOF vegetation in front of the leg, and this image does have a bit of an overflashed look (at least from my work monitor).
Fernado I like the bird's pose in mid stride and the head turn. The OOF vegetation in front of the bird draws my eye.
With the grasses fore and aft, I love the COMP as presented. I am betting that you used flash on this; am I correct?
Yes, flash was used, it was a rainy day in August !
Thanks Fernando, As I suspected. You used a bit too much flash--it is evident in the eye which could have used a bit of Eye Doctor work to clean it up. Again, I love the look of the image and the grasses.
General flash guidelines: Songbirds close: -3. Cloudy dark days: -2. Overcast or cloudy bright: -1. Full sun: 0 or even +1. Indoors in dim light: +2 in P mode. Outdoors at dusk: +1 in P mode.
