This is a close-up of the breast feathers of a Ringed Teal.
OK I am way out of my comfort zone here but I am trying to explore different images other the typical bird images. So when I saw the patterns of this bird I thought I wouls have a go at creating something different (for me).
This image was processed in ACR. No crop. In CS3 I ran the Poster Edges artistic filter to get this look.
Does this work for anyone?
Thanks for looking and of course any critiques.
Regards,
Phil

Phil: really nice colors and I like the artistic filter. I am looking closely and see even green shades on the feathers. IMHO, if you cleaned up (cloned or cropped) the dark circles that are cut in half, it would make for a stronger image. Godd eye to caatch this.

Hi Joanna, Thanks much for the comments. I like your suggestion on the black spots on the feathers. Is this what you had in mind?.
Thanks again.

Phil, Yes, I think that is a much more clean image. I find that my eye stays in the frame. Well done!

Phil, I like your feel on this one. I like the texture and it seems to move a little when you look at it. Very Interesting!!

I love getting out of my comfort zone. I feel it makes me grow as a photographer.
Great looking study, repost, with ore contrast, is very appealing.

Re post does look better Do keep an eye on the values for the dark areas Its all about local contrast !!!
