OK..........I don't do this often..........come to think about it..........ever before! I was hunting for moose.......without success........when I started playing around with this. A couple of hundred images later.......this is what I came up with. At least you can't say I didn't get out of my comfort zone! All in camera Minimum PP to HS and contrast.
Canon 1D mark 3 and the 100-400mm lens at 365mm at f11 for 2 seconds at ISO 100 and Singh Ray Vari ND filter to slow exposure down........all mounted on tripod with Studioball head with a little play in locking mechanism........tilted slowly up during exposure.

Beautiful! Freeman Patterson would be proud of you, I think. I keep trying pans during long exposures, but have not yet achieved anything close to this one, despite throwing away many boxes of slides and deleting hundreds of digital files.
Can't wait to see your second attempt!

Must have been the long wait looking for moose.........or the art school BG kicking in. Thanks for the kind words and Yes Joanna.........they are aspens (my favorite trees). The colors in the Tetons were the best I've seen in 10 years. I hope the same will hold true for the E. coast. these were photographed just over the border in Idaho from Montana n a local park.
