I am hoping to resume photographing birds in the field next spring and am already pondering some targeted species. Does anyone know of a destination in the eastern U.S., including the mid-west for these desired species? Using a car as a blind along roadside areas would be a plus. Thanks.

Time of year is important as you well know. Our camera club will have access to a bird refuge the first week in May. It is off limits to the general public. Cleveland, Ohio.

Sedge Wren - I've seen 3 in my life in the same place near Ottawa, but last year none showed up that I know of..
We always see Upland Sandpipers now..they seem to be making a small comeback..
A good place for both Sedge Wren and Upland Sandpiper is Carden Alvar near Oshawa:

But timing is critical...Sedge Wrens sing in the spring and respond to calls, once nesting starts they go quiet...
