the price is very attractive for landscape shooters (and everyone else) who want a full frame camera.
If the image quality is as good as Canon says then I think they may have a real winner.
AF is disappointing. still not available af f8 after all I've read.

now the question is whether the higher ISO's are as good or better than the 1ds Mark III or the Nikon D3 .....

And the other question is whether this release will lead to a drop in price of the D700 and D3.

I shoot the 5D and LOVE IT. But...I have been looking at the Mark3, 21.5 megapixel version too. If the new 5D Mark ll is a good one, I'll be one of the first buyers at B&H. I love the full frame for landscapes. It will be interesting for sure.

After reading the reviews and looking at the specs for the last hour, the 5D MkII is looks like it is going to be a good generalist camera. As stated the shutter speed seems a little slow for wildlife, but its not horrible. -Susan

I find I'm "laying" on my 40D shutter release less now than I used to. I now routinely set to slow (3 fps) or single shot and pick my moment to hit the trigger. 4fps at 21 mp in the new 5D mkII is pretty amazing if you think about it!
