These birds did pose on real juniper but gave me the most animated poses on oak. Taken last week in central AZ, bg is juniper and oak shrubs.

I like the tilted down pose with the open beak. The BG is a nice complimentary color and nice and smooth. Perhaps toning down the light area under its tail would give better impact?
Great pose, details and setting. I'd love to see this species sometime.
Great pose and BG, light is great as it is sharpnes and exposure, maybe more saturation would help to bring evrything up a bit. Congratulations.
A real beautiful shot Laura I love the open bill and excellent details. Nice Work!
This is really super. Can't see a single thing that could be improved except maybe a very slight cropping off the bottom to remove the two small leaf parts.
I'm taken by how much this bird looks like a miniature jay! Makes sense when you consider that the titmice (family Paridae) are considered to be most closely related to the crows which of course includes jays.
Very nice pose and perch. I only wish the the OOF blotches in the BG beneath the bird were not there. Good point by John about the jay resemblance :-)
Oh Laura I love this image and the awesome alert pose you captured here. Great composition and detail and the open beak is a wonderful bonus. Great work and many thanks for sharing.
