Captured at Wingspan Bird of Prey Center located in Rotorua. Wingspan is the only bird of prey center in New Zealand, they have no goverment funding and are a volunteer organisation that reabilitates injuried raptors and has a breeding programme in place to help increase the numbers of our only endemic Falcon. Currently the NZ Falcon is more endangered than the Kiwi. Each year volunteers undertake reseach and surveys in Kiangaroa forest and other known locations to check on nests, carry out banding and tracking to see how they move around the feld areas. Checking on nesting sites can be very interesting with the parents dive bombing and keeking. Usually the first you know that your close to a nest is when you have talons draged along the top of your head. I hope to display images from nest sites later this year when i am back in the field.

Extremely sharp and with lovely details. I see a lot of noise but that's easy to fix.

Very interesting background information. An excellent flight image.....and one that can be so hard to get. Beautiful detail and sharpness. A little blurring on the BG to remove the noise would be good. Well done.
