I have 3 computers, two desktops and one laptop. I have CS3 on my two desktops and was wondering if I loaded CS3 on my laptop then when I travel deactivate it on one of my desktops and activate on my laptop, then when I return do the opposite. Does Adobe have problem with this? Thanks.
You may have to uninstall on one of the desk tops and reinstall on the lap top. Here's what they say,

Allowing others to use a second copy of the software violates the product license agreement. "</DD>
I have de and re- activated CS3 on my "spare" computer several times when I needed to take care of a few things while the main one was not available. I've had no problem.
Charlie> I think that's kind of what Nancy was proposing - deactivating a copy on a desktop machine so that she can activate on the laptop. You can physically install CS3 on as many machines as you like - it'll just stop working unless you activate it - and they allow you to have 2 copies activated at any one time (as I discovered when my laptop crashed totally, and I was unable to deactivate that copy since the disk wouldn't spin up any more...)
I can't offhand see why that would be a problem - deactivating should free up one license for you to use on another machine. Still, having not tried toggling licenses between machines, I couldn't be sure Adobe wouldn't frown on it or that there wouldn't be some other issue. You could do worse than a phone call to Adobe tech support - I'm sure they would have the answer. Fingers crossed for you!
Thanks all. JH and Jim that is exactly what I was talking about. I might just give Adobe a call, but I do not do much editing on my laptop and do not feel like spending the money on another license. I have my two main desktops connected with a KVM switch so want CS3 on those to machines mainly.
Maybe a call is best. They explicitly state that two computers (one program dormant) is the limit of their licensing. It's possible a simple deactivation will get around this.
You can just deactivate and reactivate.
It is not nessecary to uninstall.
