OK Jules, you've been singing the praises of Liquify, and I finally had to dive in.
Very fun stuff!
Got any idea what this photo used to be of? I thought about doing a composite that showed parts of the original flowers, and distortion on just the bloom, but my imagination ran away with me!

look like daylilies to me. But it seems to me like you used the "magic mushroom" filter. You almost got Kokopelli out of these! Crazy, fun effects

Amy: Great liquification! I can't wait to try. Now, tell us what you liquified! Would love to see the before shot.

Yes, Bruce, I was kind of thinking about Joanna's Fly-Agaric-tripping squirrel at the time... Looks like he might have gotten hold of a laptop somewhere in the woods....
I had shot these flowers, and they had lean to them. I decided to keep them, and originally went into PS to try to make them look like they were blowing away - with a wind effect, but that didn't give me what I really wanted. So, I thought I'd play with liquify..... :)

Joanna, I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with. I still have something in mind for a "wind" theme, but it will take some more PS-ing. Picture the individual elements of the flowers broken apart, and scattered toward the top right..... with the movement effect on them, and the rest of the flower stationary. Not sure I can pull it off, but I'll have fun trying!

Quite stunning. Looks like some ancient Aztec or Greek dancers...
