After months of trying to help Canon(to repair 4 times) track down an intermittent electrical problem, I finally got my rig back to working order and went out for an evening with these beauties. I was hoping for late afternoon golden light, but cloud cover nixed that idea. As I approached this burrow on my belly, this brave sentinel ran to the top of the burrow mound and shot me this one stern look. Once the gaurdian saw I was no threat he promptly went to sleep.....

HI David,
Lovely pose, low angle and clean BG. I would like to see more room all around as it looks too tight in the frame. Excellent feather details. I would also remove the dark black spot in the left side of the frame.
Keep them coming!

nice image David, I agree, a little more room around the bird, maybe clone out the one long blade of grass lower left., and a touch more sharpening.

Very nice image David, you captured a great pose of a beautiful bird. Great exposure control, color and detail, it looks plenty sharp on my monitor. I don't mind the "tightness" in frame on a shot like this, IMHO more room would only benefit this shot if that extra room greatly enhanced the feel of habitat. Very well done.

great shot. I like the green BG, the raised leg and the angry look on the owls face.
I would clone out the grass left to the bird's right leg.

Great angle, pose and look. Adding to the other comments I would raise the color temperature a few degrees.

Hi David,
I am OK with the crop.....but some do call me Mr. Too Tight...........Agree with blade of grass removal if you are not against such things.
