I think that this image would have been better as a vertical and wish you could have moved your position for more frontlighting which would have lessened the rather harsh shadows. A S/H adjustment will help this image I think. I love seeing the drilled holes in the tree trunk and the bg is really clean.

Compositionally I like the repost better, but maybe a little less tree and more space at right. The repost is too bright though.
