Heron with Nest material

I don't photograph these Blue Herons very often because we have so many around here I take them for granted. Had to get out of the house since all I do during the summer is work and went to a local pond.

Not happy with the background at all but I took what I was given. Curious as to whether this is perceived as a favorable wing position.

Great wing position, light and the branch adds to it. I agree, the BG is a bit distracting.

I don't really mind the BG, it looks good, the overall image is wonderfull, the pose, the sharpness, the light, all very nice!! Congratulations!
