Great fun capturing images of these guys in southern Arizona. There was an abundance of Broad-bill hummers

I really appreciate hummer images with a multiple flash system but have no experience with it. This doesn't seem to be as sharp as it should although I do like the bird's position. Is there a reason why you used F/25?
Lana
I agree on the sharpness being lacking. As far as the F25 goes, I would use whatever F stop seemed to create the best exposure and that would run usually between F/22 sometimes to F29.

When you say multiple flash, how many is multiple?
I find this one sharp enough and with good detail. The BG is what does not convince me at all, but is understandable at f/22
Great DOF for the bird, but too much detail in the BG. Lovely pose, though :)
Juan - multiple flash was 4 flashes.
DOF - Yes, the background was I believe too close for the set up.

Thanks for the info. Tom.
Lovely wings but looks soft in my monitor. You did well capturing the bird just in time!
Tom, this image does have better color and more details in the bird than the one above. And I would prefer this one over the other. Still seems a bit soft to me as well. Please keep posting them.
