Out with a really good friend shooting last weekend, but, darnit, I can't remember his name! :)
We had Cliff, Barn, Tree and possibly Northern Rough-wing in one location. Probably saved $10 in gas.
Shot with Canon MIII, 400 5.6, spot meter, f5.6, 1/1250, manual exp, no flash, bushhawk.

I think your statement that "these little guys can be a challenge" is among the greatest understatements I've ever heard! I can not think of a more difficult bird to photograph in flight, and not only that, you have superb results. I would be interested if you were focusing manually, and waited for the bird to fly into focus, or is the camera and lens you use able to auto-focus extremely quickly?~onlybill

Most of the credit goes to the 400 5.6 Canon lens and the Mark 3's fast acquisition speed. I only use centre point with a manual exposure. Oh, and tons of practice - another understatement!
