Here's a Fairy tern chick from last year, just fledged, resting on the limb of a Plumeria tree. These birds don't build nests, the mother lays its single egg on the branch of a tree and sits on it until it hatches. The chick has extra long tallons to help it cling to the branch while the mother and father are away at sea catching it food and feeding themselves.
