I created this image in my favourite raptor photographic destination - the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. The Red-necked Falcon is a small, very agile hunter of birds in flight. An interesting behavioural trait that is unique to this species is that it sometimes hunt in association with the Gabar Goshawk.

Very nice Chris! I might have considered moving slightly to the left if possible to get the bird clear of the top part of the perch, and also to get more separation between beak and head. Like it a lot though!

Another amazing new species and quite the lovely image. Wonderful soft light and so sharp. The perch is less than ideal and it is amazing that the upper part coming towards us is in relatively sharp focus at f/5.6.

I don't think I've seen this species before, thanks for sharing! The light, pose and BG are great. It looks as if the critical focus is in front of the bird.

I like the lighting and composition. At the best of times the subject do not always land where we want them to perch.
