There is a small stream near to my office in North Wales that has a pair of dipper on it. Sometimes I pop out in my lunch hour with the camera to see if I can find them. I have built up a small library of shots in this way. The shot below is the only time I have not seen one on a rock in the river channel. The bird was perched on a bit of wood debris that had become wedged on a small weir which created an unusual setting.
The setting really is unusual. I like the pose. It looks a bit soft on my monitor and the white plumage has a slight blue cast.

Very striking pose and I like the corner to corner composition as well as a very nice BG. Nits mentioned.

Above nits mentioned ,I would also like to add that to my eye the perch is a bit distracting (something that I find myself guilty of all the time ) as the brightness of the wood keeps taking my eye off the bird

What a beautiful bird. Nits have been mentioned, but I still am drawn to the image.

Thanks for the replies. I can see it could have done with a bit more sharpening now. Thanks again for the constructive critiques.
