Osprey with fish

This is an old one, March 2008, during my second visit to Viera wetlands.
I am debating where to go this Sunday, my options are Viera wetlands, Merritt Island or Joe Overstreet ... Any recommendations?

BTW a tree trunk was removed on the left hand side of the frame cutting the bird from the beginning of the tail to about mid back... after painstaking PS work, my resident critic (also known as my wife) told me that she preferred the pic with the tree :)

I really like your image, the bird looking at you plus the details of the talons deep on the fish´s body, wow, I looks like the light was harsh but you did great, the only problem I find is that this image is not mine!

Very nice Raul! Was this in a freshwater area? The fish looks like a Tilapia? Good eye contact and feather detail. Wish that you were 15 feet tall for a better angle:D! Dan Brown

Yep, it was fresh water area. Regarding the fish species I have no clue, after a couple years of birding, I am going to start learning my trees, then insects and finally I will attempt fishes.

Great catch both of you. You handled the harsh light well and I would sharpen the bird some more.

You did well with the rather steep angle. I like it without the other tree <smile> I would go a bit darker with the mid-tones. I like the fuzzy-headed look. A great leaning-toward-you perch.
