Taken a couple of days ago on Lake Geneva in Switzerland, Here the Goosanders congregate over the winter and the locals feed them in certain areas, Once somebody arrives with some bread they all fly over-Easy photography and a great place to hone the BIF skills, This image was taken with an unfixed MK3 which has now gone off for repair

Hi Dave,
Well sized and positioned in the frame, great light and you have got it nicely sharp.
Pity we don't have more of these here in Stratford
Care to swap some Black Headed Gulls

Very nice pose and light, Dave. You could do some CW rotation and if the head were sunlit and one could see the underside of the right wing, too, this would be even better. I would give it a bit more room top and left. Quite a wish list, I should say that I really like it. :)

Nice shot Dave. Sharp and goo light. I like the way the head, body and feet are pin sharp and the vings are blured. and also that you captured it with the tail striking the water and the feet on the way to breake for landing. Have tryed to ged theese birds but are very shy in dk.
Good shot

Very nice image. I like the pose and the look he's giving you. Maybe a touch more S/H tool could brighten up the head some?

Wow! You really captured the moment. I wish there had been more light on the head. Great job getting a sharp, handheld image.

Very good flight image! It is true that at this time of the year Geneva Lake is heaven for BIF shooting. I visited it few winters ago when I still got a film camera and not a very good lens :-(

Yes Lake Geneva in Winter is a great place for BIF-Goosnader,Tufties,mallard,pochard,widgeon and Gadwall to name but a few all winter here in good numbers,The last couple of years have been milder/not so cold and birds have not been in such large numbers but the place is still worth a visit
