Very cute pose and great water colors. Yes, maybe a bit centered but it works with the concentric lines around the bird. Have you tried putting the grebe further to the left in the frame? I would clone out the brighter spot in the upper left.
I like the golden water and the head turn with good eye view. It is a bit too centered for my taste.
The grebe is nicely done, Steve, but the water colors really set this one apart. I don't think I would move the bird to the left because you would start to lose the concentric rings which are an integral part of this image - IMO. :)
Beautiful capture Steve with a lovely pose and a great head turn. The golden water is gorgeous and makes a wonderful BG for the grebe in this image. Well done !!!
Awesome water and a pretty bird. Worthwhile in my book but maybe I would try a little off the bottom!
Love this water and the grebe head position. With the concentric circles the center framing work AOK.
Although it does look centered as you sai "to capture the concentric waves" so it really doesn't bother me that much! Congratulations! Great shot!
I feel it is a great combination of subject and environment. Colors are superb for both and I would leave it as is. thanks for sharing this little beauty.
Excellent self-critique; I quite like it as is, esp. the look back head turn and the golden water. It might need a small CW rotation...
Thanks to all for the comments and suggestions.
Axel, I did try different crops with the bird more to the left but kept coming back to the more centered one because of the circles.
