Green woodpecker (Picus viridis)
I couldn't believe it when this guy dropped in and then of course he had to go where the light was pretty poor. I was in my hide and I had to get out and peep round the corner to get some shots. Colours are flat but realistic due to the light and the fact that this was a grubby devil, it had been raining most of the night and he had been rummaging around in messy grasses. I appreciate not exactly how one would hope to see this bird but I was delighted to get it. Fingers crossed for better circumstances.
