Hi all ... this is more or less an accident shot , as the Jay came to close for the kit I was using . So I was ending with composition disaster ....
Only solution was to crop in tighter , as I have cut him off very awkward ... after inspection I thought this would work as pure portrait
Image taken at the " Buzzard " site , where no Buzzard arrived :bg3:
Canon EOS R3
RF 400 IS L 2,8 + 2x TC
Tripod
F 8 ; Iso 5000 ; 1/500 sec ... wanted to experiment with slower shutter speed because of the falling rain , but the Jay stayed not long enough on the perch
Processed with Capture One and PSCC 20213 ; cropped to 80 % of FF
Thanks for watching and commenting to my previous postings

Love what you have got and dislike what is missing, sorry chopped off Jays don't work for me Andreas.

Andreas, I think you can see just about every feather here amigo :-D
Really nicely rendered - did you leave a bit more contrast than usual? I like the close look at the eye and slightly open beak for sure.
The crop could work for me but I would like a little more room at right - possibly a candidate for a 4x5 here?
Really nice colors and tones as per usual. Nice to view in all!

Thanks Jon ... no problem that you have reservations , but why do chopped of Jays do not work for you .... sounds like others would work :bg3:.
Thanks Brian ... I did not specially pushed the contrast , it just happened on the route to finish the image .... and I did not reduce the overall intensity of the group to a great extend . Regarding crop ... I was undecided about 4x5 or 5x7 , so I went for the 5x7 option to keep the back and the blue feathers in full glory .
Cheers Andreas

Andreas details are fantastic. Those blues make it for me they just pop. I love large n the frame but this may be overdone a bit more room all the way around. TFS
