Hi folks ... another one from today of this species .
This time taken with the big glass , but I actually forgot to stop down more .... when being so close to the small bird to have more DOF . Weather was late morning slightly overcast

Hi Andreas, a lovely little puff ball. I like everything about the image except the tail being out of focus. I don't think stopping down would have helped. Love the perch, the thorns look menacing. Colors, feather detail, and background all work well together. Thank you for sharing.

What a cute, fat little fluff ball. It is sharp where it needs to be, on the eye. Love the soft light and the BKGR. My only wish is that the bird had not turned away from you.
with love, artie

So cute, beautiful background, and I love the thorny perch. I have no issue with the oof tail. Better head angle was needed. IMO lightening the shadowed belly would work well. I love the fine feather detail around the eye.

I am also fine with the tail being OOF. Sharp at the head so looks good to me. You were already at f/8 so not sure if f/11 would have done much more. Also wish for a better HA

Yes to more head turn as others have mentioned. The OOF tails bothers me more than it does others, but there's not much you can do when you're on top of the bird and already at f/8. Processing looks great, as usual.
