The Gannets are starting to return to the shores in my hometown, as they nest on the nearby Bass Rock.....Last year, when they arrived, they came quite close to shore, chasing the fish, so hopefully they will repeat it this year....This is one from last year....HH.....ACR, Topaz DN and PS.

Symmetrical pose is great, and the head-on view showing both eyes is great. I'm looking a this on my laptop, but the birds neck and head look unnaturally smooth on this monitor. Curious if others note anything similar.

Hi Will ... super pose of the Gannet and the FG/BG looks great with all the subtle layers of color and tones , all does work well with the head on approach .
The Gannet itself does look " odd" ... what happened to detail and sharpness ? All finer details do look smudged together ... any idea why ?

Hi guys....I think I over processed....I liked the pose etc, so worked on it....The original was over exposed, and when reducing the exposure in ACR I still practically got no detail in the whites.....Detail in the blacks yes......I looked at reducing the whites to get more detail, but all methods added too much grey for my liking...so decided to leave them....I have others

Nice pose and placement in the frame Will! I Agee with others about the sharpness of the head and neck. Still nice looking frame
