Hi folks ... a simple clean image of this species captured at local lake , from last year while still learnin the pros and cons of the R3 .
Did not expect the drake come so close to me , hence the use of the 2x TC .... had to add canvas all around .
Canon EOS R3
EF 500 IS L II + 2x TC III
Tripod
F 9 ; Iso 1000 ; 1/2000 sec
Processed with DPP 4 and PSCC 2023 ; added canvas to all sides
Thanks for looking and commenting to my last postings
Cheers Andreas

Lovely shot, when I look at the wing and back I recall similar results and it makes me wonder if they have been lifted a little too far and I am undecided .......as with this one. Apart from that rinky tinky.

This one works for me Andreas. Nice ethereal BG, processing and sharpness top notch. S/H look good to me.

A pure, water level image amigo.
Really lovely in all facets - gorgeous tones and the splash of color in the iridescence rocks!
One more inch or so on each end would give it just a little more perspective but I hear you had to add a little already. Regardless, a treat to view. Well done!

Beautiful view of this bird. Low is the way to go! Love the lighting and detail on the head. Processing looks great. Only thing I'd want would be more DOF to get the flanks in focus. Bravo.

I think you did well Andreas with the 2x I've not had much success with it having gone to Mirrorless and I'm not shelling out for the RF version, albeit I have picked up the 1.4, the return is minimal on the 2x.
Processing looks good and I like the iridescent colouring in the head. Nice low POV which is key here.

Thanks so much folks for your kind comments ,much appreciated .
@ Jon ... i could add a bit more depth to the 3/4 tones , maybe i do that once i am home .
@ Dorian ... you are right a bit more DOF would have been nicer , with this kit in close range DOF is oh so narrow.
@ Brian ... yes to add another inch or two :bg3:
@ Steve ..i have to say i am quite ok with the 2X and the output , but for sure not the preferred combo !!! As long as i do not know the lens lineup for the RF future , i will keep all the old stuff .
I had unbelievable offers recently , R3 and 70 - 200 2,8 ( both brand new ) for 5800 Euros ... but i was thinking about it too long .And the guy sold it to somebody else ..
Cheers Andreas

Your call at the end of the day, I’m all RF except for the 500f/4, if that version comes out this year as predicted sadly the price point isn’t going to be on my radar.. at least Ģ10.5k +
