I have not been posting for three years - nice to see the site is still going strong :S3:
I photographed this family of White-throated Swallows at our local water purification plant. They are breeding summer migrants to South Africa from their non-breeding grounds in central Africa.
ISO 2800 and and 1/10,000? Probably didn't need that much ISO or shutter, but the result looks good regardless. Image is well composed and super sharp. Action is outstanding and you managed to get catchlights
in all the eyes - amazing.
I would tone the blue BG down a bit. It's a bit overwhelming as presented. I'm also not a huge fan of the cement block, but that it what it is as this stage. But a very strong image all considered.

Thanks for viewing and commenting. I take your points on the BG (sky reflected in the water), ISO and shutter.

I agree about the blue in the sky - easy fix. It's remarkable how cameras perform with high SS and ISOs now eh! You pretty much guaranteed freezing the action here. Perch is what it is, but an overall fun hungry family image.
Happy New Year Chris!

Hi Daniel, thanks for viewing the image and commenting, and Happy New Year to you as well! Indeed, the Z9 is a marvel of technology, combined with the 500 PF lens it opened up possibilities that I only dreamed of a year ago😮

Chris, great to have you posting. Welcome back!
As a defector from Nikon, I hear solid things about the Z9. Hope you enjoy it.
Regarding the frame, not much to add from what was said. What stands out is getting the whole clan in plane, well done!

Thanks Brian, nice to be back🙂 Yup, the Z9 has its quirks but I love the camera and my keeper rate has increased substantially
