Hi folks just a simple and straight forward image of this species on my local lake location .... not many times having the luck to get them as close as this one.
So i took the chance for a couple of frames some month .... nothing super exciting , but worth to present , IMHO.

Andreas, a beautiful species. White on blue water is also effective IMO.
Not much to critique on texture and tones; nothing new for you. Pose is classic and effective. Orange is just about perfect in terms of richness and pop.
Personally, I would love a touch more room around the subject. Also, the shadow on the far wing looks just a bit artificially lifted for me.
Always enjoy viewing your images though.

A very serene shot Andreas, very well expose, cool detail in the 'basal knob', however if you have it, then more at the foot would help.
It's unfortunate that the RHS of the body, in shade, has collected the blue, nothing much you can do about it.

Very nice image all around Andreas! bird looks good to me. I am not bothered by having a little bit of shadow on the right. But I do agree with Brain it looks like they have been artificially raised. Still a very nice image. My biggest thing is it seems a little tight, especially up top for me.

The details are fabulous, Andreas. Cant beat a naked prime lens and big pixels! Love the orange on the blue. I agree about the shadows on the bird's left wing. I would also hope for more room all around. Get more of that beautiful blue in there!

Looks super to me Andreas, having taken swans under similar circumstances I can appreciate the skill in the making of this image. I appreciate the comments made about the shadows but I have a sneaky suspicion that you have portrayed something very close to reality.

Folk refer to it as a shadow, but is it not part of the bird????

Thanks guys so much for the positive feedback , much appreciated !
As for the shadow :w3 .... it is just part of the bird that is lying in shadow , easy as that . That part carried so much blue / cyan , already in the raw color profile .... it is reduced in PS to a degree that I think it does look good . Did not want to reduce it completely .
I have to agree that it is a bit tight , was sitting on lake edge and did not want to back up ... to spook the Swan . So had to live with the given crop .
