Hi Colin, well from a PP perspective I think this is the best image you have posted, whatever you have changed, altered etc, keep going, you are certainly on the right track and have turned a corner IMHO. In addition, kudos in pushing the ISO, however as a fairly strict subject I think 1/2000 might have been adequate, then a fraction more Dog for the subject.
The BKG is less than ideal, incredibly busy and if you upped the DoF not much would change, but it is what it is. The hefty dark/black streak in the tail feathers is heavily choked, but even when address there is zero detail in there. I'm wondering if the focus post was not on the eye but perhaps a touch on the wing, with the DoF more might be in focus?
I still think as previous, having the rig on a supportive structure ie tripod rather than HH, you could have reduced the ISO and tech would have been slightly better.
BTW if you haven't seen there is a new Firmware 1.7.0, you might not think the changes apply, but Brands don't always advertise some of the more 'hidden' upgrades.
* Actually Colin, having taken it into PS, with a little more USM I think the DoF looks/appears OK.

BTW if you mean SH (Shadow/Highlight) it's not the greatest tool in the box and when used, applied with a very light hand, personally it should be removed.
Thanks Steve. AF point was on the eye.
No option for tripod as I was hanging over my deck railing.
I haven't mastered the individual tools the achieve the same effect as SH so I create a separate layer that can be deleted if necessary.
Thanks for the firmware tip, installed.
Supre shot, I don't know if you use TK8 but selecting mid tones and gentle colour grading again the mid tones really enhances an already pleasing image (in my opinion that is!!)
Well done Colin .Hardly ever get them out of their comfort zone and therefore surrounded by foliage.Focus right on the eyeball. It will be great day when we get one out in the clear .The girls are much more interesting than the boys in this species. You miight think of taking out the bull oak nuts in front of her face.!
You don’t need a third party Colin, Colour Grading is in Lr and therefore I would assume it’s in ACR.
Hi Colin ... first of all i am great fan of any member of the whole cockatoo and parrot family across the world .
They can be so comical ... as a consequence i really like to see an image of them .
I feel happy for you that you have the opportunity to see and photogrtaph them in your backyard !!!
Regarding the image i do like it because of the posing of the bird with that nice head turn ... while feeding on the oak seeds . The BG is a bit busy ... but nothing you could have done about it .
Details looking good and you have done a good job with the NR !
Personally i am surprised that nobody mentioned the overall " cool " WB and specially the very obvious blue/cyanish coloration of the wing and tail feathers .... even the beak does show blues crepping in . If i recall correctly my sightings of this species ... they do appear rather " neutral black " in reality .
As colors are subjectivce take this as a personal taste of mine :bg3:.
Fine image and TFS Andreas
Striking bird, but the whole subject appears soft, even on the face. If this is full frame that eye should be hella sharp. Background is very busy, but you knew that at the time of capture. The WB is also a bit funky, but I'm not sure in which direction. Part of me wants to say too blue while part of me wants to say too magenta like the headshot from a day later.
