hi folks ... due to a loss of a hard drive in my global drive chaos :bg3::eek3::bugeyed: , been afraid I have lost some of my older work ( which was not the case ) I had to reorganize my whole set up .
so I got myself a large raid with 24 tb of capacity and copied thousands of files to the new raid .... at least on a safe place now .
because of that I went through the archive and thought ... post older stuff
image is taken back in 2013 in the Hooge Veluuwe in the Netherlands
canon eos 1dx
ef 500 is l + 1,4 tc
tripod
f 6,3 , iso 5000 , 1/500 sec
processed with Capture One and pscc 2022 , slight crop from top and rhs , wish I had framed the image less central , left the bg color balance more on the cooler side
thanks for watching and commenting to my last thread
cheers Andreas

WOW - WHAT AN IMAGE !!! I think it is perfect !!!! Beautifully sharp everywhere it needs to be, the eye contact is intense and the pose is fantastic. Those majestic horns, the detailed mud , the colour in the foliage are all wonderful imo. Doesnt seem like you had much light however the result is absolutely fantastic imo. Surely under the given circumstances this image must be close to PERFECT........

thanx Basil ... for your kind wording , glad you like the presentation .
the light was not there .... :bg3: ... this species is coming mainly late afternoon and early evening onto the rutting arena and if the day is dull you have a lot of nice light to work with :bg3:.
cheers Andreas

Lovely capture Andreas, and nice PP work too, subject truly pops out of the screen. I particularly like the colours and the foreground with those lovely flowers. As well as the detail on this gorgeous stag. Great pose, nice framing, perhaps a tiny bit more at the bottom would have been good, but not a big issue.
Been looking at Raid just the other day as I too have numerous RAW files I would like to copy on another HD, in order to keep them safe. The San Disk Professional seems like best option at the moment... any thoughts?
So nice to be able to go back to the archives and find some 'gems'...This is certainly one special frame and I am glad you shared it:w3 thank you so much Boetie.
Kind regards,

I like this Andreas, he stands out well from the surroundings, colours look very good, his pose is typical of a stag looking slightly surprised. The detail in the antlers is very good indeed.
