I spent 5 days in our Kruger Park last week, and managed to come away with a few images. This is a Kori Bustard which is in fact, the heaviest flying bird. The guy was preening close by and gave me a show. I was fortunate to see a lot of these guys on my trip in different locations and surroundings. Taken early morning in overcast weather.

Great pose with the tail up, and I like the lone feather on the ground. Certainly similar to our Australian version.

I too like that feather. Neat bird. Good head angle on the alert pose. A good peak at the habitat too. I would have tried to prevent the darker area to align directly with the head, but understand you were "stuck" in your vehicle here. Perhaps hiding it in post via clone/content aware/other... It would have been easy to lose detail in the darker plumage, but it is there! Super shot.
