Hi Jon, your back garden is giving you some nice opportunities. Nice image of the jay. Good sharpness on the near wing, body and head. I am not familiar with this jay but the colors look good, pure background. Thank you for sharing.
Jon, I like the pano at lot here. And tack sharp on this one, even out to the anterior primaries... nice @ f3.2.
Great eye contact and view of the talons. I like everything about the canvas sans the brighter [trees trunks?] going vertically on left and right. Evicting those would make a massive impact I think, and I'd love just a slight punch via curves as it feels a touch flat.

Brian I think you make good points, it could stand a little more punch but I always try to capture what I saw, I did as you would expect play around with various parameters before posting, in the end I went for this as opposed to something being more pictorial of dramatic. The out of focus tree trunks have been attenuated, again a matter of taste, I wanted to retain the woodland background so we can appreciate the typical habitat. Smooth featureless backgrounds have their place but this was a natural setting that I wanted to portray.

Well done John.....not an easy task....Colours look spot on....I can hear Brian regarding the trees....personally I would 'soften' the edges on the tree trunks.......but, yes, it does look natural....
